Britain Needs Bioscientists was a conference first held in September 2009 for 150 year 12 and 13 biology A-level students from across the South West at the University of Exeter. It aimed to inspire budding young scientists to pursue a career in the biological sciences.

The conference highlighted the range of career opportunities available in the field and will also gave pupils access to some of the most exciting new research happening at the University of Exeter. Some of the University of Exeter’s top academics, all world-leading in their field, presented their latest research to the delegates.
Presentations ranged in subjects from pollution to biofuels to evolution. The conference now happens annually, rotating between Exeter and Cornwall campuses.
