Lead Institution: University of Exeter
This is a sub-project of Progressing from labour market intelligence to HE level provision that is well supported by employers
It is unlikely that the project can continue long-term in its current context – for example, having a full-time member of staff dedicating half their time to it – as the same resources will not be available. However, there are several members of staff with an interest or stake in the project who are keen for the work of the project to continue – indeed, the CRM system issue is being discussed by senior management to determine the best method of long-term implementation and effective use.
One success for the project has been to identify within the College an individual who will have responsibility for dealing with legal issues relating to student involvement with industry – previously there was no specific point of contact within CEMPS. This responsibility will be formally integrated within the staff member’s role for the next academic year (2012-2013). Guidance for staff members engaging with industry on such projects is currently being integrated into a briefing document, which will be disseminated throughout the College to all relevant individuals.
Short term future activities include producing the employer-facing brochure and ensuring it is available in multiple, attractive, useful formats as well as continuing to participate in meetings, conferences and similar activities to ensure that the network of individuals created through this project is sustained.
