Course Structure & Learning Outcomes

The Making use of your evaluation: Informing practice and evidencing impact half day course aims to give HE STEM practitioners the opportunity to: share their evaluation experiences and to learn from the experiences of others; reflect on the value and uses of evaluation; explore the many uses of evaluation and how these might affect their own practice.

Learning outcomes for the course include:

  • Understanding of the value and importance of evaluating HE STEM outreach
  • Understanding the process of successful evaluation and collecting evidence of impact
  • Understanding the uses of evaluation including: improving activities; sharing good practice; and reporting
  • An ability to reflect on their own practice and the role of evaluation in facilitating this
  • Understanding ways to evidence impact from outreach activity for different audiences
  • Developing personal and professional skills - for example, communication, planning and critical reflection
  • Advancing knowledge and capacity to conduct effective, robust evaluations

Accessing the Full Course Materials

To access the full course content and all associated resources, you need to join the NCCPE's free training ning site by:

1. Heading to: http://nccpetraining.ning.com/

2. Creating an account; this will automatically generate an email to the NCCPE who can then approve your application, granting you access to the site

3. Once on the site, you'll need to join the group relevant to the resources that you want to access; choose the group tabs to access the groups available
