A study of the key drivers in workforce engagement with HE level provision in the Aerospace sector

Lead Institution: University of the West of England

This is a sub-project of Progressing from labour market intelligence to HE level provision that is well supported by employers

Project outputs > Case study 3 Employer engagement - student data analysis

This HE-STEM project is trying to identify how to better engage employers with HEIs, aspects of which are covered in Case Studies 1 and 2.  However, there is a third element which has to be considered in parallel – the engagement is needed to improve skills and knowledge for a given organisation, and that organisation has to have employees willing to take on the work needed to achieve these.  It is, therefore, important to identify how and why students look for training and what level of support they feel they get from their employers, to see if anything can be done to support them.

This survey was intentionally kept simple and most results were as expected.  Nevertheless, they are useful and have identified issues, for which conclusions and recommendations are made
