presentations
In May 2012, Dr Carolyn Morton presented to HE practitioners and some local employers at the HE STEM Employer Engagement in the South West Seminar hosted by Bournemouth University. The presentation describes the National HE STEM project at UWE which looked at the best technologies to enable an online or video conferencing forum for students to present their analytical chemistry work to a dragon's den of employers.
Technology-enabled Employer Engagement in Analytical Chemistry
The project was presented at UWE's annual Learning & Teaching Conference on 26th April 2012 by Dr Carolyn Morton and Dr Adrian Crew to an internal audience, mostly involved in curriculum delivery and teaching at university. The presentation featured a Q&A section with the participating students and feedback from the audience was very positive and encouraged the use of these technologies on both scientific and non-scientific courses.

The project and its results were also included in a presentation to around 30 practitioners. Dr Adrian Crew and Penny Mitchell presented; “Technology enabled engagement between employer and student to improve employability”, presented at the 9th ALDinHE Conference; "Learning Development in a digital age: emerging literacies and learning spaces" (University of Leeds, 2-4 April 2012).
