Seven members of the 'Writing and Communicating in STEM Disciplines' special interest group contributed to, and four presented, at the Association for Learning Development in Higher Education Conference at the University of Leeds, 2nd April 2012. Their symposium, Generic Graduate Attributes and Writing Development: how do they fit together?, was well attended, with ten of the audience staying behind for an hour afterwards to discuss many issues, and especially how to empower students to learn from one another.
