Special Interest Group 'Writing and Communicating in STEM Disciplines' > Presentations by SIG members at the Bath meeting, June 2012

This meeting had a focus of students' peer review and giving feedback.

Jackie Dannatt from the University of Bath's English Language Centre presented on 'Noticing: engaging students in the feedback process'.

Dr Alessandro Narduzzo, from the University of Bath's Physics Department, discussed his work with first year undergraduates under the title 'Less is more in Physics'.

Dr Trevor Day, who heads the SIG, reported back on an HEA-funded, one-day workshop he attended at Queen Mary, University of London, on 30 May 2012. The theme of that workshop was 'Judging quality in disciplinary writing: what can students learn from peer assessment and composing feedback?'.

Alex Narduzzo's and Trevor Day's presentations are available on the links below. Both are licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 3.0 Unported License.

We hope to post Jackie's presentation in due course.
